Rachel J Stephenson

Dr Rachel Stephenson completed a PhD in organic and analytical Chemistry at Massey University, New Zealand in 2010. Following this she completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in the field of Virology at Kansas State University, Department of Diagnostic Medicine and Pathobiology. During this position Rachel undertook research at a BSL-3 facility conducting both laboratory bench and animal experiments, including viral challenge studies, on the detection and surveillance of exotic zoonotic diseases affecting the swine industry. Towards the end of 2012, Dr Stephenson started her current role as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The University of Queensland, Australia investigating the properties of asymmetric nanoparticles for the use in vaccine delivery, targeted vaccine delivery using novel glycoconjugates, and epitope mapping for subunit vaccine design for Schistosoma japonicum.
